A better answer, or "an answer" would be "Here's how what I said was odd and gross, I've since taken the time to educate myself, and here is how...-" None of that was shown here. No sign of insight or growth. No real awareness of what occurred. This just sounds like when a kid says "I'm sorry" only because an adult told them to say it, rather than them actually being sorry.
