  1. This is worse than Gulags. The gulag was a system of prisons, both criminal and political. What we're talking about here are concentration camps, and Russian concentration camps are certain to be extermination camps. They've made no secret of their wish to eradicate Ukrainians as a people and even as an idea. Never again is now, and it's being allowed to proceed again.

  2. The Russians will use them but never trust them. They'll quietly clear them out to Uzbekistan or someplace similar if they end holding those territories in a stable way.
