Part of the problem is that Africa is riven with its own corruption, and has been for as long as I can remember. I wish the continent well all the same.

@ClandestineChroniclesOfficial A totally different point. I worked around Africa from 1982 for 15 years. Apart from back-handers, the foreign aid never went to the intended, and the first thing almost all of their elected officials did was to steal from their own treasuries. Colonialism arguably minimised the scope for their criminality?

@andycnorth1 A really idiotic comment. It is clear to anyone that I do not advocate for colonialism. Through years of hard-learned experience, I must advise you that Africans are culturally a light year from your world, and I'd imagine of those that remember colonial rule, many remember it far more fondly than you'd like them to.

@ndjimifeumba1708 I do not understand you. Are you agreeing with me or not? I made it clear that I don't advocate colonialism. More generally, I was pointing out that Africans are far from blameless. By the way, the experience of countries that experienced colonisation has NOT all been the same.
