  1. With reference to Liam Halligan's point that no Conservative leader has ever addressed The Dáil, Theresa May never understood Brexit let alone Ireland. What would she have said? She was happy to delegate the negotiation to a civil servant (Oliie Robbins) who was anti-Brexit and equally ignorant of Irish sensitivities. The grandees that allowed May to stay in post as long as they did have much to answer for. This particular Spiked production speaks absolute sense. As an Irish Brit, I've seen everything first hand that has been discussed. Varadkar and a clique in the Irish media have put back Anglo-Irish relations, which I believe will recover. But, the public sector broadcasters in the UK were quite content to scratch the sore too. The entire skewed presentation of Brexit to the public by the BBC, Channel4 and Sky facilitated the delays in Brexit – aided by Bercow, Gina Miller and the 'Remain" judiciary. Well done Liam Halligan and Brendan O'Neill.

  2. I'm not convinced Identity Politics will just go away. It would if more of the public could think for themselves; but the leftist establishment controls everything debatable within the public domain in my opinion. Thank goodness for Spiked, New Culture Forum and so on – who all provide a valuable alternative source of information. Spread the word!

  3. Context is everything; thousands died in appalling circumstances in Britains cities, mill towns and mining communities. Communications were not like in this modern age; often near neighbours were unaware of the emptying of whole areas of Irelands west.   4. On the basis of the integrity he's shown in this podcast, I'll take him at his word. I'm saddened by his experience and wish it had been otherwise. But there are good and bad everywhere. And I know bigots who reside on both sides of the Irish question; they get no succour from me, I assure you.
