  1. Listened to him for years; never heard him advocate communism. People change. They grow up. He is a republican but could admire the late Queen Elizabeth 2nd. As an Irishman myself, I perfectly understand the nuances of his reasoning and opinions. Brendan and fellow Irishman Liam Halligan are second generation British citizens of Irish ancestry with much to say that's worth listening to on many subjects.
