  1. Connecticut is not a high crime state. Don’t listen to local news stories. There are 3.5 million people in Connecticut so there are always crimes to be reported on by the media. Check the FBI stats for more meaningful data. From what I’ve seen, Connecticut’s property crime rates are below the U.S. average.

  2.  @freedomrings.0007  - every state has their good and less than good places. In Connecticut, those less than good places would be Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, etc. But the state as a whole has a lower crime rate (and lower property crime rate) than the U.S. average. It isn’t the safest state; that would be New Hampshire and maybe Vermont or Maine. But it’s one of the safer states even if it has its rough edges.
