  3. Okay. I’ll call some of my California friends and send them into your neighborhood. 😎 Actually, NYC s crime rate is not all that high. In a recent year, out of 211 US cities with over 100,000 people, NYC’s crime ranked 197th. It’s murder rate is about a third below the national average. I also don’t think New Yorkers are particularly rude, unless you are rude to them first.

  6. What t.f. do you expect in a city where 68% of the registered voters are Democrats? (The percentage of Republicans is 10%.) It’s surprising they ever elected Republican mayors at all.

  7. Crime has been decreasing in NYC since the early 1990s, based on FBI statistics.

  8. This is due to the Gulf Stream. I actually think NYC has mild winters (compared to where I live, anyway), but not as mild as the UK, which is much further north.
