Briggs, at about 12:20, you said Guayaquil has temperatures “in the low thirties at night.” That is highly doubtful, given that Guayaquil is near sea level and is very near the equator. I have also read that they have a significant dry season where for a few months they get almost no rain at all. (I’m sure it is low thirties - Celsius - or about 90 Fahrenheit on most days.) Also, Guayaquil is in southwest Ecuador and is not near the Colombia border, so I doubt they would have a national park that extends to that border. If they do, what is the park’s name?

Nah. I’d rather see the USA resemble Sweden. You can have Venezuela.

On a more recent post, Briggs mentioned Parque Nacional Yasuní. I will read up on this, but it doesn’t sound like it’s near Guayaquil if it’s on the Colombia border. I looked up the city’s climate on Wikipedia. The temperature never drops below 60°F or 15°C, so a heater is optional. Around June through August, the city gets almost no rain, while in January and February they get about a foot of rain or 300 mm a month. A little bit different than what was described in this video. I’ll stop typing now. 😁

Parque Nacional Yasuní is on the Peruvian border, but is in the eastern part of the country. It is about as far as you get get from Guayaquil in mainland Ecuador.

Probably better than the view from Uranus.
