They were barrack Ed separately and the British were shocked at the way the 🇺🇸 whites and police treated their black 'brothers in arms'. Was also a fact that the coloureds were allocated mainly support battalions, ie. away from guns. A situation which persisted right up until the middle/latter years of the Vietnam War, I believe.
