From this little affected 🇬🇧 observer, it seems that, away from the traditional steadfastly, stone built house, that the homes that burnt were constructed of e z build panels and l o t s of wood. Those pics of the Malibu seashore illustrates this best with the extant, remaining, chimney breasts/stacks standing proud while the maisons they served have, apparently vanished around them. Maybe a time to consider reverting to proper stone built constructions ¿?
