  1. It's their way in creating more differences, to split people. In this particular case by changing transliteration to "more Ukrainian" version to emphasize that "Ukraine is not Russia". They bastardized other the names too in this campaign.

  2. ​ @michaelbetsch9700  From 2018 US ran a campaign to force everyone to change spelling. It's not only Kiev. All big cities in Ukraine were renamed in the same was (Kharkov->Kharkiv, Lvov->Lviv,Nikolaev->Mikolaiv, etc)
