  3. Excellent video. I suspect those "phalanxs" were spearmen, two handed spearmen while standing behind shieldmen, two handed large shields, similar to later Perian infantry - Sparabara. Later on the Greeks improved this with the single phalanx hoplite man - one armed shield, one handed spear but still fighting in the tight phalanx formation. ?
