  1. All these things became demoted as economy became finance and offshoring. Hopefully as economy becomes more manufacturing more resources will be directed into those areas

  2. Not labour. Highly technical with huge scientific education. Part of restoring is having smart hard working people working in engineering. For the last few decades it made more personal sense to drop engineering and work in finance and real estate. Much better paid and less risk of your job going to China

  3. All shale deposits not equal . USA has some of the best. Another factor is that a lot of USA is low population density unlike Europe.
