  15.  @ssjjshawn  Chaos Gods were perfectly fine with Horus winning. They can kill Horus anytime they want by devouring his soul (even after he killed the Emperor) or stripping him of his powers post-Trisolian. Abaddon was just one of many back up plans they had The Cabal's plan was wrong since Chaos reign the Universe post-Horus victory. Chaos could have kill John in the Warp (even before he lost his immortality) and let Horus be the 30k equivalent to AOS-Exalted-Archaon. This also means that Abaddon can conquer/destroy the Imperium and the Chaos Gods won't stop him. Don't you understand. This is the only instance of time-travel changing a pivotal event in Warhammer 40k history!!! Time-travel cannot be used against Abaddon (especially since he can see the future) without making the lore stale! Had Kor Phaeron summoned Ann'ggrath (or the Chaos Gods summoned him) at Calth instead of some worthless Daemon the Word Bearers would have exterminated the Ultramarines (40k Guilliman couldn't beat Skarbrand who is weaker) Dark Angels and Blood Angels would never make it to Terra as Madai and other Chaos forces would delay them for years Another way for Horus to 'win' is the Chaos Gods convince Drach'nyen to become the sword of Abaddon. Isstvan III, Isstvan V, Molech/Vengeful Spirit, Trisolian plus a hundred other battles become one-sided victories for Horus Both Loken and Mortug die at Isstvan III. Shadrak Meduson, Nyoka Sharrowkyn and Corax die at Isstvan V. Knight-Errants exterminated post-Molech. Russ killed and Space Wolves exterminated at Trisolian, spear never hits Horus Yarrant does not happen so Abaddon gets to slaughter countless Solar Auxilia, Space Marines, Knights and Titans at Beta-Garmon. Lorgar and the entire Word Bearers participate in the Siege Horus, Abaddon and the Vengeful Spirit are part of the first wave in Solar War inflicting very heavy casualties on the defenders. Horus prematurely detonates Kerberos so it blows up a huge chunk of Sigismund's fleet and Loyalist defenses. Abaddon joins Samus and together they kill Dorn and steal the Phalanx Horus and Abaddon join the Lost and Damned on the first assault on the Palace breaking through the three trenches of defenses before Dark Mechanicus reinforcements arrive. Emperor is forced to reduce his magical barrier earlier resulting in Angron arriving at the Palace much earlier. Lion Spaceport is taken before the Death Guard, Word Bearers and Night Lords launch their first attack which overwhelms Saturnine and Eternity Wall Emperor, John, Oll, Sanginius, Vulkan and Horus fight and kill each other. Angron kills Valdor and Mortarion kills Khan. The Webway breach is torn wide open turning every planet and moon in the Sol System into Daemon Worlds. Horus is dead but the Traitors won the Heresy several years earlier and with much less casualties. Traitors exterminate Dark Angels and Ultramarines Another way for Chaos to win is to have Changeling kill and impersonate Koriel Zeth giving the Dark Mechanicum access to the Akashic Reader allowing them to pump out Dark Age of Technology weapons and warmachines including Chaos Men of Iron. Zeth's forces also join the DM. Both Kane and Camb Diaz die in the Schism. Kabal Machine is upgraded and still fights for Chaos The blockade fleet is annihilated and the DM take over most of the Imperium. Horus wins the Heresy and then his soul is devoured by Chaos
