  3. Karolina, even if blatant support of the US "seems" like nationalism that doesn't make it necessarily so. "'Honestly' a sign of a lack of independent, critical thought?" That may be YOUR honest opinion but that doesn't make it objectively true statement. Of course a government has the potential to be corrupt and greedy. So do the people it represents. Could you clarify what you are attempting to say?

  4. And they don't even realize what they are asking to trade. It appears they know nothing of other countries, of how people live in other countries so, in their ignorance, they disparage our constitution and are willing to trade it in for what they think will be a free ride. I wish they would just go do another country and experience what it is like to not have our constitution, to not have free enterprise, free speech, educational opportunities, all the rights and privileges that we take for granted here. Go to a muslim country, try getting arrested in Mexico, try getting yourself and education in Ethiopia or Sudan. These kids have no idea.

  5. Exactly. I wish they could at least experience some of these other regimes. Then they would be in a better position to give an opinion. I've lived in Kuwait, worked in Singapore, even Saudi Arabia. I feel like kissing the ground when I returned to the US. It isn't perfect but its better than most places. Of course, if these SJWs and snowflakes get their way, we might as well all go live in Venezuela. Good luck to you!

  6. LOL Yes Kevin, I have. I would get on a plane, take off the abaya (that black dress we had to wear in Saudi) and when the plane landed in the US, I would be SO grateful. I like the way you said it, "a sense of belonging." I felt grateful that I belonged here. I know we have problems, but at least I am not covered in black. I can show my face, vote, drive, and work. And as for our police--again, not perfect--but anyone who puts their life on the line and stands between me and total anarchy, is a friend of mine for sure. I always say hello to them, wave, give them donations, whatever. Try getting pulled over in Mexico---what a mess! These snowflakes here have no idea how good they have it.

  7. Yes, Nathanial I have lived and worked in the Middle East, (Saudi and Kuwait, specifically) and visited several other countries in that vicinity, and I couldn't agree with you more.

  8. Civilian. I worked on a construction contract in Jeddah and I lived in Kuwait when my husband worked on a DOD contract. Interesting experiences but I am glad they are over.

  11. Absolutely. When we were in Saudi I had to wear the---not a burka but the black dress (I can't remember the name of it) I was in their country and I had to go along with their customs. But when they come here---that's a different story. They want things their own way and don't seem to want to assimilate.
