Wyatt, Do you think it was unintentional? I bet she didn't intend to kill him. Her actions in her drunken state definitely killed him so she is totally responsible, but I doubt she planned it ahead of time. But she doesn't seem to feel the least bit bad about what she did.

@Systematicsphere Well, guess what I just did? I looked up the definition of "murder." I hadn't really thought about it, but---yes! Of course. It has to be intentional. So I guess I am of the opinion that she didn't murder him. I think she is responsible for his death. I think she is one of the most obnoxious human beings I have ever heard. I think she ought to be punished. But I don't think she murdered him. Do you?
39
If I was innocent I would certainly talk to police. I would want to clear myself so we could get on with finding who really did it. But if I was in any way involved,---yes--shut up. These detectives are good at getting at the truth.
20
@Systematicsphere Okay. I get it. But-as devil's advocate - what about premeditation? Would that have to prove that she planned ahead to put him in a suitcase? Would it still be murder if they couldn't prove premeditation? IDK. I'm just thinking. She is so obnoxious, I'd be fine if she was locked for the rest of her life.
15
@acebinko1 So it wouldn't be premeditated? I don't think she planned it. It seems to bizarre to plan to zip someone up in a suitcase in order to kill them. However, once he was in there and telling her that he couldn't breathe and she didn't unzip the suitcase, that is intent. I think it would be fun to lock her in a room with Darrell Brooks and see who came out alive.

@garymorris1856 She is nuts, isn't she? Even if it was an "accident" as she says, she still did it. She still killed her boyfriend. I don't hear her say anything like, "OMG I killed my boyfriend!" Nothing. No accountability at all. Damn! She doesn't even cry. She is a real damaged human being. Lord knows what her childhood was like. Can you even imagine!?
10
@carolynfinkelmeier1227 I think she walked into that interrogation room thinking that as long as she didn't mean to do it, she was going to walk out. What a lunatic.
5
@left-2-write28 LOL I'm confused. Is negligent homicide considered murder? I am not intending to express any judgment. I'm just confused about the terminology. Negligent homicide seems to pretty accurately define her actions. I think.
4
@arthaiser I agree. Being drunk doesn't mean you get a free pass. I just wonder if she was sober, if should have let him out. Don't get me wrong. I can't stand her. I hope she does to prison. I'm just wondering how a lawyer will defend her case. What could be her excuse for allowing him to die in a suitcase?
3
"Spiritually." Remember that? In retrospect, she thinks the relationship wasn't healthy "spiritually." What kind of insane bullshit is that?! I LOVE it!
2
I love that, too!
2
I wonder why the defense is allowed to get up and tell such ridiculous lies. Listening to that defense lawyer makes me embarrassed to be American.
2
@123leyang321 Okay
2
@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 He had to have crawled in there himself and let her zip him up. Right? Still, if he needed to get out because, oh I don't know---it was a STUPID idea--she should have let him out. She was angry and drunk and didn't even consider the possibility that he could actually die. Couldn't have happened to a nicer couple. Oh and---is it me, or WTF is wrong with people in Florida? Surely, there are some lovely Floridians who just enjoy the sun and aren't criminally insane.
2
"Swallowed up by a wormhole and take her chances in another dimension." I love it!
1
So, when the detective starts the second interrogation, does he already suspect her?
1
@mikes6281 Thanks. It seems like he does and maybe I missed something but I wasn't sure.
1
I don't see one tiny bit of charm here. Guys a drug addicted asshole. I don't get it. I'm on the side of the person the robbed.
1
He was probably a wimpy little drug addict and it was a huge suitcase. I do agree--pretty impressive.
1
@nosywendigo592 If I didn't do it, he won't be able to get enough evidence for a grand jury or for the DA, because---I didn't do it.
1
@nosywendigo592 Good luck, Hunter.
1
@R DOTTIN So, you think the prisons are filled with innocent people who are going to be executed.
1
@kammaliek No. There are people everywhere who are depressed and don't have good relationships with their parents. Sure not having a good relationship with your parents is hard. Lots of things are hard. Life is hard. You don't have your parents murdered.
1
@Unbreakable245 No.They deserved to have children who resent them, want to have nothing to do with them, not be able to see grandchildren. But they don't deserve to die.
1
@_Gandalf_The_White Yes! Take some responsibility. Find a good counselor, church, friends, whatever. Work two jobs, take care of yourself, join the military---there are many options in this country. But don't stay with crummy parents and sit around feeling sorry for yourself just so you don't have to pay your own rent.
1
@dennisdupuis1567 LOL Yes. I'm an English teacher. I love you for that Dennis!
1
@SuperNuclearUnicorn Really, Callum? Yes. It is that simple.
1
@JS-wp4gs Look up "abusive." Disowning someone might be cruel, unkind, cold, but "abuse," no--not technically.
1
@amyy0025 Because many of us understand "pain." What we don't necessarily understand is "psychopathy."
1
@SpielkindFR Yes, but she has a successful brother. We have no reason to think he is a sociopath. It is her character.
1
@Unbreakable245 But if they were, you would murder them?
1
@amyy0025 It seems to me that by killing them she did herself no favors. I mean, she could have moved out.
1
@Unbreakable245 So then you would end up in prison which gets you---what? What would you hope to gain by murdering them? Why wouldn't it be better to get the hell away from them and warn everyone?
1
@lordiust962 LOL
1
@criert135 Gotcha. I never looked that up--I was going to but never got around to it and forgot. "I fell asleep! I fell asleep!' What do you think will end up happening with her case?
1
@soxpeewee Do you think when she was taking the videos she was hoping he would die? I don't think she was. I don't think she was thinking anything at all. I suspect she was just enjoying the moment. Please don't get me wrong. She is one of the most idiotic, annoying people I have ever seen and I don't care what ends up happening to her. Still, I have hard time thinking she planned to kill him. I think she is skanky and insufferable but not very bright.
1
@gentlyyhaven I don't think she thought he would die. I don't think she thought at all. I think she is an idiot. An idiot who, because she doesn't THINK and she was drunk and angry and she - probably unintentionally - killed this creep. And back to one of your points - Hide and Seek? What? Are you 4 years old? Who does that?
1
@dithageneral287 I agree that she didn't care. I do think that, if she didn't consider the possibility that he would really die and she would be held accountable. I think she was too drunk to think it through. I could be wrong. She could have planned the whole thing. But, she isn't that clever.
1
@dithageneral287 I agree.
1
@gmmartines7331 That makes sense.
1
@Amber-yq9ee Right. Just because you repeat it over and over again, doesn't make it true.
1
@arthaiser I agree. She killed him. She did it. She absolutely responsible for his death.
1
@garethlawton5278 What if the defense tries to say that her intention was to make him squirm? I wonder if the prosecution has to prove that her intention was to kill him. If so, I wonder how they will do that. IDK. I don't really even care that much. She gets what she gets. It's just such a weird case. I've never heard of anything like it.
1
@Migman-d3m I wouldn't be surprised. I'm thinking of it more from a legal point of view: What exactly are they going to try to prove and how are they going to prove it?
1
@Migman-d3m She does have a couple of times he was arrested but then she bailed him out. I think she totally killed him. I don't think she intended to but she did it and is responsible. I don't know how the prosecution could prove premeditation. I think they could maybe prove negligent homicide. She is a walking, breathing disaster. The weirdest thing is that her ex-husband seems fairly normal.
1
@pok3rfacReturns Oh she's guilty of the second or third. I agree. I'm wondering how the prosecution will prove it. Will the videos she took be enough? Seems like it should, but the defense is probably going to say she has battered spouse syndrome or something which is bs in my opinion.
1
@Baylorbetterthanbrown Okay, here's what I'm thinking--I've been drunk before and I did things that I didn't remember doing. (Nothing bad, thankfully, just kind of stupid.) Later, when someone reminded me, it all came back to me and I felt foolish. So---yes, she is totally responsible. She should be held accountable. I believe she is a damaged and evil person. But I'm just wondering how the legal system looks at it. If she truly doesn't remember doing it, can the defense prove that and try to use it? I mean---they shouldn't! Don't get me wrong. She did it. I don't care if she was drunk. She is responsible. She killed him and showed no regard for his suffering. Does that make sense. I don't really disagree with you.
1
@DeathnoteBB Okay.
1
@paimon_irl7776 You may be right. I hadn't thought of it that way. It sounds like she was pretty drunk. Perhaps she wouldn't have done that if she was sober, but that hardly matters. Did you hear the interview with the neighbor? It interesting because he lived right next door and heard what seems to be the suitcase going down stairs after and few minutes of silence.
1
@11kwright I agree that it was likely an ongoing battle between them. Not the it was okay for her to do whatever she did but he wasn't totally innocent either.
1
@Smegmatician I wouldn't think so. And, as distasteful as she is, I don't think she planned it. I do think she is making things worse for herself by being such a jerk about it all.
1
@Smegmatician Do you think she put him in the suitcase (or he got in and she zipped it up or whatever) and heard him calling out saying he couldn't breathe, didn't comprehend the gravity of the situation (maybe because she was so drunk) and just went to sleep? Or do you think she had him in the suitcase, realized he might die and took the opportunity to kill him?
