I support this. Doing so will be informative. So many people don't know the laws that govern vote counts in their states. Here are two examples that are in the news currently: The reason Arizona is slow is due to what was done by the AZ state legislature. They passed laws including: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that law, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election.

Actually this is on purpose, and it was done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that law, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election.

It is valuable to know why Arizona is always like this (remember 2020?) They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election.

And most of this is done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that law, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. Talk about bullspit.

It's ridiculous, and this is where it comes from: They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. So they could not even sort the ballots out by precinct until election day.

I didn't mail mine in mostly because I wanted a shot at one of those punks "guarding" the election. I was ready to tangle, but no one in sight.

She can't. Governors can't change election laws, but she could SIGN into law legislation that fixes the mess in AZ. Did you know that the reason they are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. The AZ state legislature has tied the hands of the election workers.

I thought the same, so I looked up the process for AZ and for FL. AZ is slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. AZ can't sort ballots by precinct or do any verification work until election day. I see it as intentionally knee-capping the election commission.

I hear you. I searched the AZ vote counting laws and compared them to FL, because Florida was done within hours. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. AZ state legislators have been asleep at the wheel, because I remember AZ being slow back in 2020!

Under AZ law, a recount is triggered if the margin is at or below 1/2 of a percent. This may turn out to require an entire recount.

@anthonywilliams7052 Is that motive the desire to ensure that every vote cast is counted? Because it sure sounds like you are unhappy they want to count each vote. As far as how long this count has been going on, Republican lawmakers in state legislatures need to hear from you. They did this. If they would stop acting crazy and adopt FL laws, they could have started counting 22 days before election day like Florida did. The fact is, Republicans are fighting each other behind the scenes. Tell them to put the people first, not their personal agenda.
1
If you live in AZ, you should make your voice heard with your state legislator. AZ didn't fix their problem from 2020. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. WTF, AZ???

@vickimeyers2672 vickie I have bad news for you. In 2018 Republican gubernatorial candidate Kemp was also the Secretary of State in Georgia. He was in charge of vote counting, declared himself the winner, and moved into the governors mansion. All the Republicans across the nation insisted that there was nothing wrong with this. it is exactly the same thing that is happening in Arizona right now. so each time the Republicans point that out, the Democrats point out that the Republicans made this OK. and it is true. Republicans did something that most Americans think is wrong. And then they convinced America it was OK to do this. What comes around goes around.

@JUMBO SHRIMP Weak. If you are going to join the conversation you need to actually say something.

I have the answer: They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. They can't even sort the ballots by precinct until election day. It is almost like AZ knee-capped their own voting process.

Gang busters? Brother, we hid in our houses for months. No toilet paper on the shelves. Streets were empty.
1
No need to wonder about the cause, anyone can google AZ vote counting laws. Here: They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election.

It is ridiculous, so I looked up the law for AZ and for FL to see what the difference was. AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. No wonder FL is finished, and AZ is dragging. The law requires pre-count verification of post mark, Signature match, voting eligibility, and voter registration BEFORE they can even start counting those votes. AZ state legislature knee-capped their own election commission. Plus, they did receive more than 200,000 on the day of the election. Those are delaying things as well. SMH
1
Do you know why? They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. Plus, because of the big lie lots of people wanted to hand deliver their mail-in ballot. more than 200,000 did so on election day. Those are going to slow things down as well.
1
You and more than 200,000 other voters.
1
Exactly! I looked up the laws of AZ and of FL to see what the difference is: Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. The Arizona State Legislature really made it hard on the election workers.

Three words: Election denier.
1
Mail in ballots are more frequently used by Dems. That's why you see so many conservatives wanting to eliminate them.
1
AZ Kept the stupid laws that prevent any sorting or counting of mail in ballots until 9 AM on election day. I remember 2020, so I know what you mean. I can't believe they didn't change the law to match Florida. They can count mail in ballots up to 22 days BEFORE the election.
1
They are counting the mail in and absentee votes, and those do tend to be Democrat heavy.
1
@wyattfamily8997 Bad news bro. State Republicans did this, and they intentionally kept it after the mess we saw in 2020. Go back up the thread a little bit and read my other post. same stupid laws are in place.
1
@The Monkey Yeah, the Repubs in AZ really stuck with a drawn out plan, didn't they?
1
I am not opposed to those ideas, but let me tell you what I found. Looked up AZ vote counting laws and compared them to FL (they finished really quickly). Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. AZ state legislature has made it exceptionally difficult on their own poll workers. 😕
1
Do you know why it's like this? They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Oh! Oh! I know! I know! Teacher, pick me! They are slow due to what has been done / not done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. Remember 2020? Well, those state legislators didn't fix the law. They left the election workers handcuffed.
1
You should google NV vote counting laws. I did that with AZ and FL, and this is what I found. They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. Like, why would the AZ State Legislators not fix that? I remember 2020, and they were slow then too.
1
Paula, it is taking way too long! Florida was quick, and I wondered why. I looked up vote counting laws for AZ and for FL. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. What was the AZ state legislators thinking??? Why would you draw this out like this?
1
I remember that too! I wondered why FL can finish quickly, and AZ takes days. I searched the vote counting laws for both states and: They are slow due to what has been done by the AZ state legislature. Laws include: AZ Can't count or even verify the post mark on mail in ballots until after 9 AM election day. Compare that to Florida: does not have that restriction, and they can start counting ballots up to 22 days before the election. Insane that they did not change that stupid law after 2020!
1
You know why that is being permitted, don't you? Georgia, 2018: Sec of State Brian Kemp (R) was in charge of counting the votes, and he was also running for Governor at the same time. Kemp counted the votes, certified himself as the winner, and moved into the Governor’s mansion. Republicans said there was nothing what so ever wrong with it. So now this is the new normal, courtesy of the Republicans. It was a short sighted foolish mistake, because what goes around comes around.
1
You are not wrong, they do have to do that. They also must complete the "verification" process before they can tally those votes. Things like sorting the ballots by precinct, verifying the signature, verifying the voter's eligibility, verifying the voter is registered to vote, and verifying that the post mark is on time. AZ vote counting laws prevent ALL of those things from even starting until 9 AM on election day. Compare that with Florida- they start counting votes 22 days before the election. The AZ state legislators pulled a Tonya Harding on their election workers.
1
Start with the AZ legislature. Remember 2020? Well, they didn't change the laws! They didn't start counting the mail in ballots until 9 am on election day. Florida can count them as early as 22 days prior to the election. AZ state lawmakers need to answer for this.
