  4. The handful of MAGA in the House wanted to shut down government completely. They want to wipe out our institutions and build new ones to cater to the people who give them donations. When the government did not shut down Sunday morning, Matt pulled this. If they cannot elect a replacement for McCarthy, the House cannot function. In 43 days when that government funding extension runs out, it will shut the government down then. Which is what they wanted in the first place.
