  2. It seems to me that if they had evidence "beyond a reasonable doubt" they would have shared it with a Republican State Attorney General somewhere and filed actual charges. They could still have their hearing, but there would be criminal charges filed. Trump got indicted in New York. State prosecutors are not controlled by the DOJ.
