We have been told the same thing since Reagan ran against Jimmy Carter: 'Every Dem is a socialist / communist, and if they get in office the nation will become a communist nation.'   19.  @goldbud2287  GREAT question. Here is a football analogy: Debates are like the ESPN show "College Game Day", and the election is like the actual football game. The debate is not going to be determinate of the election, no more than the people saying this team or that team is going to win on the TV show would actually influence the outcome of a game. I have more to say on this, but first I will pause and get your response.

  20.  @goldbud2287  We must think about what the first principle of an "odds maker" is. Is it to be exactly right? No, they rarely are. The first principle of an odds maker is to make money for their employer. So how do they accomplish that? By posting odds that are enticing enough to prompt people to bet, but also in a way that ends up with their employer making a profit. They need to post odds that are appealing enough to bring in revenue, but result in the "house" keeping more than they pay out. Do we agree on that?
