  1. Yeah, an awesome example of hmm, what. A totally reckless driver. Should be teaching an auto safety course, right?. Why are we thanking him for the citizens responsibility to comply with lawful authority. Could it be that in these times that's so unusual, oh yeah. A guy broke the speeding law and is getting applause and a cop who did his job is getting the shaft.

Since in any of my responses , I have not referred to anyone as being ignorant, why do you choose to do so. Defensive, are you? Explain your comment so I can respond to the officers' action as being out of line. If you can't , I'll understand your ignorance.

  3. In pain. Excuse me but he's talking with the officer about his car , he' s laughing.. Yeah, he first complained the cuffs were tight once but thereafter no comment about them. To adjust the cuffs after they're on is problematic. The officer NEVER verbally or physically abused this guy and even allowed him to contact his mother while on scene. REmember when someone is driving above the speed limit by 25 mph it is MANDATORY that the Officer MUST arrest him. Why he was fired is beyond me.

  4. And I'm glad that other motorists have their life as this guy flaunted the law as he did. This was totally RECKLESS driving. And by the way read the whole story... the officer was REQUIRED to arrest the motorists as he was doing 25!! miles over the speed limit.

  7. After his first complaint, the motorists didn't complain again. Once the cuffs are on, it would be stupid for the officer to attempt to loosen them. Yes, this guy cooperated but most people do not comply when arrested so loosing cuffs, as I say, not a good idea. Additionally, this is a big guy so I assume his wrists are unusually large so cuffing him too tight, if he did, was understandable. The cop and the prisoner seemed to have a good rapport with no rancor on either side. Loulou66 don't make sweeping generalizations about cops. No group likes that do they? Most generalizations are BS. I was arrested on a minor charge, handcuffed and didn't feel the cuffs until I got in the back of the patrol car and my cuffed hands were pressed against the seat Told the whie officer about them and he said tot me (the white prisoner) that he couldn't ease them until we got to the station house. I understood that and leaned forward for the trip. I think the motorist did the same thing. I would have been given the motorist/prisoner the thumbs up if he went to bat for the cop. He should have. The cop arranged for his car to be picked up, allowed him to talk to his Mom from the site of the arrest , allowed him to sit in the FRONT seat next to him instead of the back seat. Don't think he should have done that but he did.

  8. Just tell EXACTLY how this officer made other police look bad. Exactly, please. How, by removing a reckless speeder from his car, securing him, telling him and his mother what was going on and arranging for his car to be protected and removed by relatives, placing him in the FRONT seat( I think that was his only mistake) and then taking him directly to processing station. Gee did he shoot him, taze him, hit him with mace curse at him, denigrate him,...,,No he just did hid job. But any stupid chance to criticize police officers and praise the a_ _ hole who gets arrested is just up your alley.

  10.  @tmc2182  Maybe in your jurisdiction but in this officers jurisdiction it is mandatory. His employer the Highwat patrol considers this level of speed as reckless therefore mandatory arrest, no discretion

  12. Yeah, NFL'ers can do whatever they want. Just look at what they did recently in Las Vegas when someone wanted to ride in the elevator with 4 of them. They beat him senseless and crush his eye socket. Or when they spend their off time beating their girlfriends to within an inch of their lives, even murdering one of them who was pregnant and wouldn't have an abortion. Listen, this NFLer was a mature, respectful adult who accepted that he was wrong and complied. Congrats to him and his family. Why can't you just see that he was wrong and the cop just did his job of stopping a very serious misconduct so as to save his life and the lives of other people who were driving on the road. Bet if this guy wrapped himself around a pole, you would quickly complain, "Why didn't the police stop him.

I speak a language that the strangers do not know ( from an Irish song referring to the British-now there was a punishing group who really knew how to discriminate --800 years of it but the Irish got over it and moved on).   19. I didn't see what the problem was. Was it that the cuffs were too tight. I didn't hear that complaint. If going 89 mph requires an arrest then the cop just did his job. I didn't hear any verbal abuse and didn't see any physical abuse. Cop didn't seem scared or worried just took professional action to protect himself while cuffing a prisoner. The speeder behaved like an adult as he should have. I don't get it.

  20.  @WmThomasReviews  What does innocent and guilt have to do with this in a traffic stop. How do you know he did or didn't clock the speed. Why is he a racist? I heard no racist comments. What makes you think he had larger cuffs. And almost every prisoner says, "the cuffs are too tight". He wasn't howling or continued to claim about the cuffs. It seemed to me that the PO was engaging the 'subject' respectfully and contacting the family from the scene was generous and actually had the potential for problems for the officers' safety. I'm done re spending to people like you that have no understanding, experience or reference point for what was going on. You're just anti police and a pro football ass kisser.

Unfortunately, as you can see from the many replies that congratulate the driver for cooperating they were surprised by his behavior. Cooperation with police usually leads to a good outcome, unfortunately, many people of all colors don't want to accept that. I'm glad the driver did cooperate; he showe'd his intelligence and maturity.

This endangers the officer's life so his treatment of the speeder should be applauded. Grow up and Wake up.

Are they perfect, no, and it's a job that needs to approach perfection as they have so much power and authority over us. We need to keep the standards high for that job.

  32. First, this guy did a good job of protecting him and the speeder. The speeder didn't have a problem with his treatment. He was driving RECKLESSLY. And later got a ticket, a ticket. BS. His job sunk him. Cowards. Hope he sues. Guess they wanted the cop to kiss his ass.

The amount of force will depend how much you resist. We have laws and police to enforce those laws. You don't want to respect those laws then expect trouble. It's that simple.

  37. Oh yeah, there's a reason but, like you, I couldn't find it in the video either. And if the cop is a coward why did he even stop the speeder and efficiently place him in handcuffs by himself without waiting for backup. Looking at the size of the speeder, I would have called for backup. He had chops. And if doing his job he's a bully then the speeder speeding as he did is a giant selfish jackass, But of course the speeder was a jackass until the officer stop him and arrested him then he got smasrt. If only, everyone subjected to lawful arrest behaved as he did there would be no problems.

They're dealing with many difficult people and difficult circumstances all with threat of being assaulted and often undeserved hatred. People are unhappy and often lost, especially those that police are called to deal with. It's often a sad world and some people want to blame others and the Police are very handy. But they're part of the solution and not part of the problem.t

  52.  @danielbell393  You must know my reputation as a person who respects the rights of others whether they be riding or walking, so you are correct, I have never, never endangered anyone by as this driver did. That's why he was rig&fully arrested. The fact that he was released from all responsibility for his dangerous actions is a result of the society's failure to demand citizen to be responsible for their actions. If someone you love is killed by such behavior, you'll understand that responsibility should no tv be based on the color of the person responsible but rather on our duty as citizens of the community.

Yes, totally unnecessary until Mr. Nice Guy ignored the law and everybody else's right to expect that they could drive down the road in relative safety because other drivers would obey the law.

  56.  @lilflasheyc  .That's true but only when PO's have discretion. In this case, he had no discretion. The only option available, due to the excessive speed was arrest. The officer told him and his mother of that policy. Frankly, his speed was Reckless Driving which for years was automatic arrest.
