You are aware many countries did it for self interest e.g., (West) Germany let in a lot of Turkish immigrants in the 60s and 70s to fill in labour shortage due to losing so many men during WWII and they did so again with Syrian refugees, but this time due to an aging population. And despite the far right rhetoric in public of Meloni in Italy, there is record employment of immigrants in Italy, both legal and illegal. Meloni faced the hard reality when in power that Italy needs workers due to having one of the oldest populations in Europe and the massive brain drain of educated Italians out of Italy. You are literally taking the dumb JD Vance stance and oversimplifying things. Denmark and Finland can plenty afford their social benefits despite strong military spending so stop it.
