@maxrebo8455 Always go for quality, regardless of where they are made. Not gonna buy 'Aussie made' if they are shit quality like this. Buying Aussie made for the sake of it is just dumb faux-patriotism.

@justmechanicthings Far from it. More it was bought out by Louis Vuitton, who wanted (successfully) to turn it into a 'luxury' brand i.e. high price, shit quality. - I used to work in the head office of a company who owns brands that are marketed as 'luxury' items, I know the margins ROFL. There's a reason why every celebrity has a beauty product. Pure, pure profit. Difference between cheaper and 'luxury' brands, in beauty products at least, is like 20-50 cents more per unit to make (slightly better quality), but say double+ the wholesale and retail price ROFL.

The toebox was way too narrow for me when I tried it.

@Davidtime depends on the conditions you use them in. That said, a well fitting boot to your exact shoe size (going by Euro sizing tends to be the most accurate) wearing the same thickness of socks you would wear in those boots and it matching your feet's shape (including the toe box!) is FAR more important. I'll take one of that with Goretex than one that fits my feet like crap and crams my toes but has Goretex alternatives.

They have a quite narrow toebox however. For wider toe boxes, the La Sportiva TX Hike is a lot better. I have quite particular feet and toe width in which all the ‘favourites’ don’t fit because of the narrow toeboxes. I found the TX Hike to be a lot better than the Raptor, even factoring out the toebox issue.

correct. It totally depends on the type of hiking and THE CONDITIONS. Leather would be terrible in a humid environment hike for example as you stated. Where shoes are made is *massive*. Asics are massively favoured by people with wide feet because what-do-you-know, it's a Japanese brand with a strong brand presence in Asia and genetically east Asians have wider feet! It's the same with Asian glasses brands because of the narrower bridge. They WERE the original 'barefoot' brand by default in reality. - I am VERY VERY surprised Rose Anvil didn't review an Asics wide shoe in his wide show showdown.

@stevenlippis5488 Good doctors in reality wear good quality sport shoes or runners as they need to move all the time, regardless of GP or in the hospital.

@Alyosha1975 yep. there was a recent raid on a Chinese sweatshop in Italy (thus they can get away with 'Made in Italy') with a luxury handbag brand and they found the wholesale prices for the materials. $3000 retail price bag with $90 worth of materials rofl. not a typo. three thousand.
