It is more complex now however. ‘Chi-fi’, or Chinese company made audio products, in audio hobbyist circles is well known for their value for money. Oppo was famous for Audio visual hobbyists for their high end DVD and Blu ray players before they made smartphones. They were objectively measured and had part tear down reviews so they were confirmed to actually be very high quality. Lenovo is Chinese owned as well. But they all use Western made parts, but they still require the right engineering and manufacturing cost. Parts is one thing, engineering to utilise them properly is another. You don’t judge a car purely by the tyres it has for example.

Others have noted this detail before, including ‘Asianometry’, who is a YouTuber who is Taiwanese-American and lives in Taiwan and mainly has content surrounding semiconductor and computer industry related happenings and history.

‘Aborigines’ is pronounced ‘Ab-bo-ree-gee-nees’ by the way.

It's a balance. Argentina's, if you actually bother to read up on it, was essentially 'crony-socialism' in that they essentially bloated the government so much there were 'jobs for the boys' as essentially political bribes. Crony-ism of any sort and corruption, regardless of the simple political label slapped on top of it, of any sort ruins a nation's economy. This is not the same as it economically making sense to house people eh. Maybe actually look it up and think for yourself instead of tribalism using basic fun labels eh. Let me know when you're going to another one who voted Trump / right wing but then gets fired because of them doing exactly as they promised and then suddenly you want some of that socialism because it was YOU who was affected negatively. There's plenty of videos of those examples of people voting Trump but end up getting fired due to DOGE by the way.

31:38 - this shows Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Well, the Australian government is working with Australian universities to expand or open campuses of Australian universities in Vietnam. They aren't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. It is totally calculated. Soft power. More exposure to Australian culture and education = more likely Australian companies would hire graduates of these Australian universities to help head up and run operations in Vietnam because it's far easier to do business with and get personnel to assist in you setting up there if the person you are hiring knows both cultures, both languages and were educated in your universities. The Warsaw Pact block did this when Vietnam was under their influence as well e.g. the more well known East German coffee crisis. This is just the modern iteration as Vietnam looks more towards the West politically to counterbalance China in the South China Sea and the economic aspect as stated here.
