in reality it is superpowers doing superpower things. Look at France in Africa in it's former colonies dictating monetary policy and this was ripped from the US's playbook in the 70s, 80s and 90s via the World Bank and IMF. And regionally, historically, Australia and New Zealand in the South Pacific via "foreign aid". Of course, no one wants a rival to play the same game.

@manofsan yes and as are other countries too. Also smaller countries aren't stupid and aren't just pawns to bigger countries. And as stated in the Polymatter video, it isn't as black and white as you think it is. 1st rule of geopolitics: EVERYONE is in it for themselves. 2nd rule of geopolitics: NO ONE is the 'good guy'. If you think there is one, the propaganda worked.

@manofsan dude, I studied geopolitics and focused on China-South Pacific politics - it us far less black and white than you think. Smaller nations are not helpless pawns and by thinking that way, you actually undermine that they can think for themselves. Go look up Kiribati and how they kicked out PR China in the early 2000s for example. I got plenty more.

@manofsan also see the smaller nations playing bigger nations against one another via 'dollar diplomacy' between PR China and Taiwan, particularly in the 90s and 2000s. They are not helpless Dansel-in-distress pawns. They know the game and play according.

And dude, you might want to look into Guantanamo Bay and Nauru. Western nations aren't immune from this. Remember, to beat the enemy, you have to udnerstand them and how they work and that requires unbias, no matter if it goes against preconceived views.
