EU regulations in reality govern the world due how big the EU market is and that it is cheaper to comply than to have different production lines. Guess what the ‘E’ in food regulations stands for? @rossmanngroup in practice maybe, but also in practice, like in other places with ID requirements,, minorities and the poor are questioned far more. They won't ask people for ID as much if you are from the Hamptons vs the Bronx. Not to mention 3 months ago, a North Carolina judge ruled against such laws.

that said, the 3.5mm headphone jack and connection is TERRIBLE design wise vs USB-C but it has compatibility and unlike Lightning, you have consumer revolt because of the compatibility. the 3.5mm connection was great when it was invented....60 years ago.
