It was a botched software update to the client that guards that piece of hardware and reports back to the company's server for that service. The analogy is upgrading the security system in your home killing the power to your house. And yes, because I'm in IT and we know exactly what it is, and what that piece of software does. Occam's Razor.

it isn't all. It was compounded by the fact that the update rebooted servers and laptops when they usually don't. This in turn causes cascading issues like dominoes downstream as the machines downstream from the server can't connect to services it needs to run properly upstream of it. The analogy is upgrading the security system in your home but accidentally knocking out the power to your house and thus every device connected to that power.

because they weren't. It was a botched software update to the client that guards that piece of hardware and reports back to the company's server for that service. The analogy is upgrading the security system in your home killing the power to your house.

@Godleelife Are you an IT like I am? Did you have to deal with the ramifications of this like I did? Maybe you should trust the opinion of those who actually attend to these things for a job.

this is nothing to do with it. Also just how do you think machines that process your cash are going to process your transaction or accept your cash? LOL

@Godleelife so in other words, you actually know nothing. Never attribute in malice to what can be equally attributed to in stupidity.

only it is. It was a botched software update to the client that guards that piece of hardware and reports back to the company's server for that service. @Noobmaster69_bro bro, jsut look up the channel 'Kevin Fang' - there are a ton of dumb oversight reasons this type of thing could happen. You think IT people don't have this process? LOL
1
@martymcfly6411 the cash boxes are digital these days bro 🤣
1
@faustianbargains what are you on about? Stating realities Isn’t’butthurt’ 🤣

the Crowdstrike Falcon client.
1
@lorraineslife1650 only it is because those in the IT industry know what part of the software caused this. It is not a hack.
1
@faustianbargains dude, know what a kernel file is and what Crowdstrike Falcon is. You know sweet f all. You think these types of screwups are new? 😂 - There’s an entire YouTube channel dedicated to these mass outages and how they happened and it is presented in a sarcastic funny way. The channel is called ‘Kevin Fang’. The human mind like certainty, so if you lack knowledge like you do, your mind will literally make shit up to calm itself. Know the psychology of extraordinary events bro. 🤣
1
you are aware there are people in IT like me who know exactly what went wrong down to the exact file and that it isn't a hack eh. It was incompetence.
1
If you are in IT, you know how super easy a system or software update can do this. And it has been done plently before. Just not to this scale.

@Lokii_777 only it is. It was a botched software update to the client that guards that piece of hardware and reports back to the company's server for that service.
