Not taking enough leave actually negatively affects your 'work record' in the eyes of HR and Payroll in most countries as it messes up their books in regard to labour costs and budgeting for that as they still have to pay you that paid leave money regardless.

Nothing. Just wording.

@marcellofunhouse1234 they do in most of the world eh.

The median Australian wage is higher than the median American wage. We still get paid leave. And like France, paid 401k / IRA Roth on top of wages for every worker. Lots of Americans like you always think of excuses as you are in denial as you grew up thinking that 'America is the land of opportunity', when, unfortunately, due to the Internet being easier to share experiences, you realise it's a mirage. Blame Reagan for killing it.

@fatherson5907 sorry you don’t understand that the US has state and local income taxes that Australia doesn’t. And for it to be fair comparison wise, you have to factor in private healthcare costs in the US vs the Medicare levy for universal healthcare (1.8% of gross wages) in Australia. And that all workers get at least 11% on top of those wages towards their 401k / IRA Roth here in Australia and those contributions are taxed at 15%, lowering your overall tax on all your income sources. But ok champ.

grow up kid. We do but do your bills stop when you take a vacation?

@kyles2232 ok Mr Ego. You do realise people taking vacations means people spend more right? As a business owner, you don't want that? Also as a business owner, you can't think of externalities like this?

@kyles2232 it literally isn’t everywhere around the world that actually has it. It is always full pay. You aren’t helping that “Americans know nothing outside their borders” stereotype.
