  1. dani / if you dont want to cry from onions ? dont cut down to the root , stop slicing about 1/4 maybe 1/2 inch before the root . its the root end that makes you cry . i usually make a ring cut around the onion at that 1/2 inch point then peel it so i dont go into the root area when i slice . my gf didnt believe me when i told her . 'she hates onions ' but she did it my way n no tears . 🙂
