Years ago on my 75 Blazer I had the steering box start coming loose cuz the stress fractures in the frame and they did make plates patch panels for the steering boxes on certain vehicles whether they make them for that vehicle I don't know but I I found & had a shop put it in and they did a great job and it saved my truck have a good day

I hate to say it's hard for me to give up on anything but a frame swap is the only way to go that thing is a rolling death trap how it ever passed inspection is beyond me frame swap's the only way to go and I don't know if the guy really can afford it but hey have a good day hopefully you can help them out have a good day
