  2. Italy. A very EU country is catholic. Ireland. France. Belgium. Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia. Lithuania. Slovenia. Portugal. And large parts of Germany. How can the EU hate Catholics when it’s majority catholic?

  4. Yes but Hungary either follows the EUs ideals (democracy, human rights, free speech and so on) or they could get out. Third option being that the EU cuts their funding forcing them to choose.

  5.  @kerriwilson7732 . The EU is a democracy. Being part of a democracy means you have to accept the choice that the majority makes. And it's not like EU medals in the internal politics of Hungary. The EU medals in EU politics. And if Hungary chooses to not follow EU ideals and decisions they are welcome to leave.

  9.  @johnkatebe1689 . They lose the good things of being in the EU. Free trade and so on. But they won’t lose anything they wouldn’t have if not for the EU. The EU didn’t punish Britain for leaving. Britain just lost a lot of good things they had with the EU.

  13.  @j2174 . Has Biden kicked out 300 Judges? No he has not. Has he asked a supreme judge to step down so that he can pick the next one. Yes. Has the democratic party added 4 new seats and in a matter of 10 years picking 8 of the now 15? No. So thats what I mean by not at the same scale: Biden doesn't come close to how much Orban has done.

  15. The EU is a representative democracy. So yes the President is elected. And people do have a say, definitely more so than in Hungary.

  19. Human right yes. If you don’t have permit to protest you don’t get to protest. That’s how a civilized society works. And if you are unhappy with that democratically decided policy/rule. Then you are free to vote for someone who shares your opinion. That’s how democracy works.

  25. This scale of packing the courts is not happening in the US. State sponsored media comes with a major asterisk in most western countries. Impartiality. And yes there is freedom of speech, but going out and accusing say LGBT for being I don’t know criminals, without any proof is illegal. Which is very reasonable.

  26.  @A-iv6pg . Yes. Which is exactly opposite of the laws Orban has implemented. Gay couples can’t kiss in public? The absolute majority of people advocating for LGBT is for basic equality, not special treatment.
