  2. They would not be pure left, at all. There are very few democrats who are actively pushing for core left ideas, such as free-healthcare, free education, PBCs, an expanded welfare state… There are even fewer democrats who lobby for the kind of state-run, state owned institutions and companies that the left in the rest of the world sees as vital. The democrats may be dirtier left than 30 years ago, but by international standards they are far from left. There are a surprising amount of democrats in congress who find themselves agreeing with republicans on many matters of policy. Munchkin is now gone, but he was a good example.

  5. That’s funny. Considering you hear all the time how media in the Europe is left wing. Left-wing people think it’s right wing, right wing people think it’s left-wing. Centrists feel it’s pretty centrist.
