Diana heart was breaking, because she really thought he loved her, when she found out the truth with his phone calls to Camila, that she listened to, it broke her heart, Charles married Diana to produce an heir, something Camila could not do, she was to old at that time. No wife cheated on would keep that quite, she told her close friends and they supported her, something Charles and Camila never did. She did have two Children by Charles, Harry and William, who never got the years they needed to be with there mother, after her death.
