  3. It's not that strange. They want to rule, and Russia is their model for what they want the US to look like. Unrestrained capitalism with oligarchs free to loot and plunder, managed democracy with the threat of violence to make sure people vote properly, total media control, hate against minorities encouraged, and a tame state religion that rubber-stamps whatever the ruler is doing.
