@daniellarson3068 Modern Mongolia is a far better place than Russia. Plus, the Mongols established states across Eurasia that endured for centuries and presided over a cultural golden age for China.

@zky10 We owe our existence as a nation to someone else giving us military aid when we stood alone against a fascist horde, and failing to return the favour would be the most base and evil act of selfishness. Also, it's not expensive--Truss' mini-budget cost us far more than protecting millions of innocent people from genocide has. If you're really worried about money, vote for a party that promises to properly tax the rich. Our reward is that millions of Ukranians have been saved from Putin's army of murderers and rapists. We need nothing else.

@khiem1939 No, they had an old launch site with no weapons there.

Obvious concern trolling is obvious.

@bobwallace9753 Allowing nuclear blackmail to succeed is the greatest escalation possible.

@jounik Problem is, "the requirements" remain subjective, introducing the risk that a Putinpuppet might decide they haven't been met and sandbag for his master.

Would you say it's worse than Italy or Greece?

@carsonboardman7073 The problem is, we don't really have a way to deal with how Putin isolates countries he plans on invading--start an astroturf insurrection, so they're in a state of "at war" that they can't end without prompting a full Russian invasion "to protect ethnic Russians".

Russia have shown that their red lines mean nothing, and the mutiny showed that Putin negotiates and accepts a loss of face when forced into a corner. If they threaten nukes, the only required reply is "Article Five, Bitches".

@suicidalbanananana If they were "bending over backwards", the tanks and F16's would have been there this time last year. Millions of lives have been lost because too many leaders are listening to "red lines" and Scholzing around.

If we respect nuclear threats, or give Russia any ground whatsoever because of them, then the message is broadcast to the world that nuclear blackmail gives you an advantage. The only proper response to nuclear threats is "Article Five, Bitches."

@ethanor And that's a rule Putin routinely exploits by using astroturf insurrections to create frozen conflicts in countries he plans on annexing. We need a way to deal with that.

@Kas-d5b There was a promise to enforce Ukraine's sovereignity in exchange for their nuclear missiles, which was ignored in 2014.
