  1. That's the thing. Even for countries that decry Israel as evil incarnate, they don't want to actually help the Palestinains. It's far easier to stir the pot every now and then, to keep Palestine radicalised and to keep Israel as a bogeyman and a distraction from domestic failures.

  2.  @PeterLawton  Agreed, but I find the comic to be a bit better in terms of depicting just how dysfunctional and self-destructive fascism becomes, and illustrating how the people can enable such regimes.

  7. Careful you don't cut yourself on all that !!!EDGE!!!, you super-cool atheist, you. Meanwhile, in the real world, very few conflicts are entirely religious in nature. If everyone in Israel or Gaza became an atheist tomorrow, the conflict would continue along the lines of ethnic hatreds, historical grievances and revenge for the last act of revenge.

  9. Not to mention, most neighbouring Arab states don't actually want to help Palestinians beyond stirring the pot and occasionally supplying weapons. They'll point to their treatment as evidence of how terrible Israel is to keep them as a handy external enemy, but do nothing to relieve the suffering.

Indeed, and I'd like to see the supporters of the current government justify what Israel has been doing to Palestinians for decades with illegal collective punishments, the colonisation of their land, and the arbitrary cutting off of power, food or water. Hamas and the current government of Israel are both evil entities.
