@imjanng Chinese ancestry only follows the same name lineage... They ignore the rest... The number of your ancestor doubles each generation up, if you have 10 generations lived in Taiwan, your first generation ancestor should be 1024 people... But the question is, how many of them came from China? Are you sure you are 90% Han? And what's Han? Is there a DNA definition?

@imjanng culture is learned, everywhere... Taiwanese people had Japanese culture before WW2, before that they had Manchurian culture, before that there were other cultures... But according to a study by Dr 林媽利, most Taiwanese have Austronesian DNA... Fact is fact, not the misinformation you learned from KMT propaganda text books...

@imjanng there was a DNA study... and we need more DNA study to prove it... Austronesian came out of Taiwan thousands of years ago and spread throughout the Pacific ocean... people think Taiwanese are most Chinese because they are assuming there was no people living in Taiwan before Chinese arrived... and those overseas Chinese don't believe me because themselves don't know and never studied this issue...

@imjanng you do realize your gene is independent to your culture or nationality, right? people with same culture doesn't mean they must have same ethnicity or even nationality, right? if you actually live in oversea, you should know the fact... there is no pure ethnicity nor pure culture... you get half of each your parents gene, what happen if one of your parents is not even Asian? your gene immediately dilute in half... same as culture, it's all learned, that's why Japanese and Korean have similar culture to Chinese... and that's why now Asian cultures are practicing Christmas... My last name doesn't matter, my mother could be white, or black...

@imjanng you misunderstood, I didn't say ethnic Chinese in Taiwan are not Taiwanese... It's political, some Chinese people in Taiwan don't even consider themselves Taiwanese... I want to clarify, please don't confuse bloodline, culture and nationality... Taiwanese people are mostly natives by bloodline, and that's a fact according to a study done as I mentioned before, also historic documents shown not many Chinese people successfully crossed the strait before Manchu took over... Taiwanese are culturally learned to be Chinese... Just like American natives learned to be American, many of them forgot they are natives, but people should still honor their wishes if they want to claim themselves natives... Unfortunately, Taiwanese nationality is Chinese, because the ally after WW 2 allowed the exile Chinese government to settle in Taiwan, and that's also the truth that people need to figure out and solve the exile problems...
