@LoC28C Your statement has no meaning or value. Taiwan has its own government, military, international treaties with other countries, operating as an independent entity. Taiwanese tax money doesn't go to PRC. PRC has zero jurisdiction here.

@waynegore5291 well if you put it that way, Jan 6th was actually a beautiful scene of democracy in that the government did let its people congregate to voice their frustrations. Only those that entered restricted premises or damaged public property were charged. Comparing Jan 6th to Jun 4th, 1989? Which government is more brutal to its own people with tanks and hundreds or possibly thousands dead? Thank you for pointing it out.

And also, what his family does is there own private matter. Thats what makes Taiwan different from China. An individual's action is independent from their family. Whereas cpp would threaten the whole family if an individual does not comply with the government.

@袁大陸 that is an ignorant remark. Taiwan was already occupied by Austronesians, not just mainland Chinese. Some Taiwanese are ethnic Chinese, but that's as far as the word "Chinese" goes. Majority are politically identifying as Taiwanese because of democracy and respect for human-rights.

The better lifestyle Taiwan and other democratic countries offer is not obviously visible and can only be experienced if living in those countries long term. I would rather have mediocre infrastructure for the full freedom we enjoy anyday. No thank you to ccp.
