  1. But Chromium is open source and free no? I know Google maintains it, but anyone can make sure it's behaving privately or change the code to their liking. What's the point of introducing more edge cases to web development if anyone can just leverage time-tested tech? That's like saying we shouldn't use React because it was developed by Meta so oh no they might somehow now control every webapp you've ever written? Nah, that doesn't make sense.
