Never go down the rabbit trail of copying, that is a fatal mistake. Moving in the same direction is done to minimize expenses, not because it is a winning method. (And lazy to boot).

  16.  @dickslocum  Its the same old data link, digital now. I worked on them for 8 years for APS as a radio engineer (SCADA). We changed over from tube to transistor in that time. That was after I got out of the USAF Com-Nav 1963-1967 on the F-105, I went to tech school on the F-106.

  18.  @jack99889988  Well, you certainly didn't fly a F4F wildcat against a Type 0 Fighter (allied designation, Zero). The design philosophy was different, continuous improvement was difficult to impossible for the Japanese while it was and is a constant for the Americans and allies. For practical purposes, the zero was inferior for a number of reasons which have been gone over many times.

By the look of the results so far, you are wrong on many fronts, Russian armor is easily defeated by killing their supply lines, which are soft targets with practically no cover because of the very long supply lines. Russian troops are not hardened fighters, they leave as soon as they can, any way they can. Surrender is an option. The Russian trucks and the Russian guns are being used up at an unsustainable rate. Look at the battle field, the situation on the ground dictates what equipment is needed and can be used, the warthog will be very effective in the limited numbers that can be used. It is a Russian solders nightmare.

  45. In WWI, it was said the average lifetime of a combat pilot was 27 minutes; some said 3 days. We know how much time it takes to train an effective combat pilot and it isn't a month or a year. The Russian pilots are so bad, they are fighting for Ukraine!

  50. The point here is you are a fool if you copy others designs. If you can't figure out why, then you are doomed to repeat Soviet mistakes remaining 50 years behind anyone you copy. I feel the West is in a very comfortable position, running as fast as we can to stay ahead. Don't get complacent.
