  1. And........... 🥱 It is a sterol precursor such as is seen with the production of lipids in the body - such as cholesterol. Your body is chock full of such lipids as cholesterol is a component of the membranes which make up every cell in your body.

  2. It may be a perfect "nature" bioweapon = but not necessarily a good manmade one. The reason is that humans do not directly transmit it which is a key variable for bioweapon use. You must be exposed to the spores directly. Simply being around infected people is not enough. So it is effective as an agent for direct use such as area denial. It lacks the capacity for continual transmission however like you see with a virus which spreads from person to person. Also unlike viruses it can be treated with antibiotics.

  4. Actually birds are an excellent vector as the capacity to infect other species - aka "zoonosis" = insures the pathogen stays put. Infectious pathogens which can only infect and thus spread via humans can be obviated when humans employ mitigation measures and even eradicated altogether as Smallpox was. Zoonotic organisms however always have a vector in nature which makes them impossible to eradicate = and thus more dangerous for man. The ability to jump between species also amplifies the risk for mutation.
