  1. TB poses a significant public health threat - not merely because of the virulent nature of the organism itself = but owing to our response to the same. Treatment of TB involves a months long course of medication - and people tend to be very "haphazard" about things. Ergo they might begin a course of therapy to eventually become lackadaisical leading to their either halting their medication or not taking it as directed. That leads to resistance and subsequently more virulent forms of the disease. 🤔
