This is one area where I disagree with Mr Mecouris. I do not at all think this was a coup. Progozhin and Wagner are fiercely loyal to Russia and to this war- hey wouldn’t do anything to jeapordise either- which is what a coup would do. He simply wanted to shake up the Russian MOD who he thinks has conducted this war too softly and defensively. He never had any beef with Putin. It was always with Gerasimov and Shoigu.
