IMO babies must grow up with pets. My brother got a dog before I was born. She was part collie and part Feist. Picture a short coat collie that is short legged. Anyway, she was the best babysitter!! She would stay with us outside all the time. She lived outside. Daddy was a farm boy. No dogs inside until I got a poodle. Anyway, children do learn so much from dogs. I was walking, talking and playing before other kids. I could read before I went to school. I’d read to the dog. So, get the dog before you have kids or right after. My brother still loves dogs like me.
