I don’t know why the copter didn’t see the plane. It’s coming down to land and the copter was coming down the river. One air traffic controller for both planes and copters is bad. They use different frequencies for radio conversations. The ability of controllers is vital in this role. He did not blame anyone he’s saying it was a mistake to hire someone based on DEI. Air traffic controllers are needed in DC and it’s very busy there. I’ve flown into Reagan many times. They didn’t train them for two years during Covid. That is just awful. I’m just so sick of not hiring the most qualified for air traffic controllers. We don’t know what happened but we need the most competent people in the job. The nominee for FAA was not qualified to run the FAA, and did not know anything about airplanes or controllers.
