  1. As a woman, you can marry an Emirati (if you can find one in the sea of Brits and SE Asians). Citizenship takes a long time but residency is pretty much instant (so they can import more Bangladeshi child brides with less paperwork, obvi). And so true about them being extra nice to women, well-behaved modestly dressed expat women in particular! I cannot tell you how many lines I bypassed while living there and what great service I generally received everywhere I went.

  2. One advantage for women in many parts of the Middle East is that if they marry a citizen of that place they get residency quickly. This does not work in the reverse - women cannot grant residency/citizenship/work permit status to their husbands in Arab countries. This includes the UAE. And remember, the men can marry several women so read between the lines on how difficult it may be to find someone willing to enter into that state. Just be sure to keep your other passports in good order, hopefully at least one in a place where women are fully considered citizens.
