Being independent next to Russia is a foolhardy proposition. We tried staying neutral in WW2, which led to our annexation into Soviet Union. When Russia stops it's illegal invasion of Ukraine, them we can talk in EU about removing sanctions.

  2. Dunno if we are ranked NR 1 but calling us brothers is stupid. Russians are Slavs while Lithuanians are Balts. The only brothers we have are Latvia, the other nation of Balts. We do have a lot of cousins like Poland, Belarus and Ukraine, along with adopted sibling in Estonia.

  4.  @Slavic_Goblin  Shouldn't have given neighbors the reason to join said alliance. But Russian problem with NATO at its borders is that it would be unable to conquer said neighbor, something that Putin truly wants.

  16. This is a lot of nonsense. Modern Turkey has no stronger claim than Ukraine because those are modern Ukraine territories. Historically, everything Turks owned belonged to someone else. That is the stupidity of historic claims. Second, Ukrainians been around for thousands of years. They were known back then as ruthenians. Kyiv litteraly predates moscov.

Ukraine has every right to join whom they want, especially as shown that when you are Russian neighbour it's always best to be in NATO then under Russian boot. The problem with Ukraine joining NATO for Putin is that he wouldn't be able to reabsorb it into Russia then. The man imagines him self Peter the Great and wants to reconquer what he considers Russian historic lands.

After war he at first was happy about everyone being worse off since he believed it would lead to people accepting communism. Only when Americans began rebuilding Europe did Syltalin do something since he feared us would and did show others how terrible it was in the east under communism then in the west. Tell me, why did you close the border and brought down iron done?

  29.  @therokenyk8062  Russia and USSR are the same thing. The former was in charge during the existance of later. Russian neighbors are not paranoid. They have valid history to see Russia as threat given history of the region. Putin recently linked him self to Peter the Great and hinted at his desire to recapture what he considers russian old lands so their fear is justified. Russian aggression just pushed more of its neighbours to join NATO. Soon Enough, it will be surrounded by nothing but ether NATO allies or hostile nations like China.

  30.  @therokenyk8062  USSR was Russia. Communist Russia already existed before USSR was born and it's views is what led to them creating and controling USSR. Russia keeps proving to its neighbours why it was good idea to join NATO. If the idea was to stop nations from wanting to join NATO, then Russia failed since Finland and Sweden joining now and they even got guarantees from multiple nations to be protected meantime. And frankly, Russia is having trouble with Ukraine alone, it can't afford to fight Finish considering the later is even better prepared to kick russian ass. Unlike Russia, UK is in no position to rebuild its empire. Pretty sure when fascist dictator of Russia is threatening to annex more countries, we should take his words seriously and point as many weapons as we can at his country.

Heck, your recent invasion of Ukraine just convinced two neutral neighbors to join. And sorry to say but based on info from relatives, life under Putin only improved at first and gotten worse in his last 10 years of reign. He replaced thieving oligarchs of old with thieving oligarchs who are loyal to him. Your military corruption is on the show right now and thousands of young people from villages are pushed to join the army, you conscript forcefully Ukrainians into Donbas into military to use as canon fodder and kidnapped who knows how many kids to brainwash them. There is a list online on what makes one a fascist one, and Putin fills majority of requirements. You lot close down free press and jail anyone who dissagrees with your government. Wanna discuss the law where calling you "special military operation" a war, protesting the war or even talking about it can lead up to 15 years in prison? I have relatives in your God forsaken country. I know it's not as great as you claim to be. My aunt foresaw this Putin starting this war long before your fascist leader even Bagan build up of his orcs at Ukrainian border. Russia has no trustworthy allies for a reason. No one trusts you. Even China backpedal on earlier declaration of friendship and even had military drills about fighting in Syberia, where their territory stolen by Russia still is. It's hard to say how war with Ukraine will end, but Russia at the very least won't achieve all its goal, of not outright pushed out while Finland and Sweden join NATO. Russia effectively is already a loser in this confrontation as world saw that Russian military isn't as powerful as we thought it was. Consider yourself lucky. If not for nukes, NATO would already be in Ukraine pushing out your orcs back to Mordor. Your history is monument to your sins.

You don't get to brush them away by pretending your nation isn't responsible for them because you supposedly opened the new chapter og your history.   34.  @therokenyk8062  NATO is a defensive alliance that does have a few blemishes, I agree with that. But it is still very much good compared to Russia. But then, we are not talking about USA here, just NATO. Dissagreeing with NATO doesn't make one dictator or fascist, as both require certain criteria to be. Don't think I called you one yet ether, so not sure what brought this on. But existence and survival of NATO is all Russia's fault. Before invasion of Ukraine in 2014 and annexation of Crimea, NATO was on its way out because Russia didn't seem like an enemy anymore and without unifying force, people were already wondering what was the point of its existence. Russia back then reminded us why. And now Russia is yet again responsible for strengthening it with two powerful previously neutral countries. As you see aggression towards others has in fact only made Russian problems worse.

  35. Russia started this war actually. NATO doesn't tuo toe anywhere, you need to ask to join them. No one is given an offer of joining. Nor was there ever a promise by NATO not to let more countries join. Feel free to provide any treaty to back up your words though.

Perhaps there is a reason why russian neighbors decided to seek safety in NATO, don't you think? America never made such promise to Russia. And there was never a formal promise towards USSR, which has long since ceased to exist anyway.

I believe you mean Ruthenian, one of the writings used during Grand Dutchy of Lithuania after acquiring Minsk lands since Lithuanian language had no writing form prior to 16th century. Lithuania is a Baltic nation that far predates Slavic Belarus which was part of Kyivan Rus during the time when Rus and Lithuania existed. Can't squat on something we owned for millennium. But you are welcome to try prying us of NATO you russian fascist.

Lol, you don't learn language simply by playing games and watching TV, thought it helps reinforce lessons from school. Whole world is using English as international language while Russian is only used in Russia and a handful of its puppets.

But here's the thing. When it comes to language, it's not about territory but how many speak it. Looking at 2021 year, English had 1,132 million speakers worrld wide, and 379 mil native ones. Wanna compare that to Russia? 258million, with 154million being Native. The rest are former Soviet Republics. Russia isn't even close to being considered international language and even former USSR members began erasing it out. And online, Russian language is worthless. Weird of you to claim to control me like marionete with russian language when you nether control me, nor would need russian language to do it. We could just as easily speak the same things in Ukrainian or Lithuanian. But fact remains fact, English is international language used world wide. If you know English, you can go to any country and guaranteed to be able to comuniate with bussinesses, as opposed to russian which outside former USSR nations is unsuable because it's not in use. Even French has more speakers.
