No country wants destruction of Russia as it would have massive terrible effects, hence why West helped Russia in nation building after fall of USSR. Pacified Russia with few states like Chechnya becoming independent would be best for the world.

@boichi7915 That they do. Hence why Lukashenko really doesn't want to fight in Ukraine. With weakened Russia and his own loses, he might not siurvive the next protests.

Well yes. Soviet army was slightly better equipped and organised for their times. Logistics were definitely better in WW2 than now considering they managed to walk to Berlin, as opposed to Russia having problems reaching Kyiv.

@gavrilovdenis153 At first? Yes. But while Germans were bogged down with winter, the factories, they moved earlier, were churning out equipment. Yes, Stalin purged his high command before war and yet he still managed to reach and take Berlin. Actually it took 4 years. Soviets got attacked in 1941 and war ended in 45. But it was a massive world war where Soviets started on defensive and unprepared. This time Russia attacked first and a much weaker (supposedly) country. Btw,I wouldn't count on Putin having the best generals. Just like Stalin he prefers ability to follow orders without questions over competence. You don't stay an autocratic leader for long with competent military around.
