  1. Because of the exchange rate, it may indeed seem that salaries in Russia are very low, but this is a deceptive statement. In order to understand whether salaries are high or low in any given country, it is necessary to understand what a resident of that country, in this case Russia, can afford to buy with his/her salary, whether he/she can save money. And in this context it will turn out that many westerners with their seemingly large salaries live poorer and have less than the residents of Russia.
