Two insurance companies to completely avoid is Allstate and State Farm. My lawyer told me that 😮 Allstate fought my personal injury claim for 6 years 😮 . That’s where the real $$ is and they screw you for a settlement.😢

I appreciate the time you put into your videos 😊

Great to find a mechanic not rushed for time 😊even if you pay for a little more time the repairs are done correctly and no shortcuts 😊
23
Be interesting to know how sealants and gaskets have aged 😊

My wife’s car an Altima would have been a write off due to repair costs if I didn’t fix it myself 😮Body is still very good but mileage has worn a lot and I’ve replaced a lot. She has little into it compared to what it could have been 😊
16
First car I drove was a 68 Nova with straight six. You don’t need all this expensive technology to roll four wheels down the road 😊
16
Have to warranty the labor and parts, used just doesn’t work
14
I bet that the owners house is spotless.
14
A very meticulous owner, someone who does things right the first time.
14
Few mechanics truly know theory of operation on modern vehicles. CCN knows his stuff 😊

I’ve had a Nissan oil pan rust a hole in it 😮 and subframes break from rust 😢 In winter vehicles are white with salt more than snow 😂
8
Years ago after hitting a deer with my truck the repair and replacement parts were made in China 😮 Insurance companies got away with far too much.
7
I like those hose clamps and there are special pliers for them that are not expensive 😊
6
Wow $4500 engine, no more $500 engines, yup that would be decades ago 😮Luckily never had to replace one since 😊
6
Every nut and bolt is a fight. Rust falls into your eyes, what’s not to like 😂 you get to use the big hammer and torches 😮and it can add hours to a job 😢
6
The old 5 mph bumpers you hit and no damage 😊but now costs $1000’s for a tap 😢
6
Many younger people have never experienced old school luxury 😮. They have never driven 70’s Cadillacs that are now replaced by full sized SUV’s.
5
Most people approach vehicle maintenance like doing taxes.

I no longer try cleaning calliper slide pins. Best to get new calliper with new rubber dust boots.

 @mph5896 supply and demand
4
In Canada that’s called patina 😂
4
Done right is worth any extra cost. Trust your mechanic and he’ll want to do the best 😊
4
Toyota HiLux trucks are greatly valued in Panama with its mountainous terrain. I’ve seen some with snorkels following the A frame up to the roof for getting through washed out roads
4
That engine stand doesn’t look difficult to reproduce with square tubing and a welder 😊
4
Ethanol still a dumb idea and takes more energy to produce however a whole industry now relies on its profits so government won’t stop it 😢 We are being fleeced 😢
3
I bet insurance adjusters get at least 10% of what they refuse to pay out 😮there’s a financial incentive to deny you.
3
Complicated engines due to government mandates for emissions and fuel consumption. Not your old 350 Chev engine!!
3
My 90’s Jeep had a similar engine and was easy to work on and had more than enough power
3
@Allan-es2hz nope. Put in a used fuel pump and see how that works for ya. Used parts can be bad before you install them. I've fixed my cars for decades and used does not save you $$ or time, but you do get plenty of aggrivation
3
That is a hard hit. Fifty year old cars you’d just replace the wheel and be on your way but todays vehicles are not over engineered. He’s right, bodily injury can be much worse and last a lifetime 😮
3
The shop I go to always diagnose first and charges for the time. Actually saves you $. I do many repairs myself but when it’s beyond my level or tools like a hoist I know they fix it right the first time 😊
3
@chungwong8934 my lawyer told me that both companies fight you longer. It's not vehicle damage they are poor at, it's bodily injury claims that are far more expensive. Keep State farm and find out (hopefully not).
3
Manufacturers don’t want undefeatable security systems in their vehicles. They depend on the 10% of sales coming from replacements stolen cars 😮
3
Sure there is lifetime fluids, don’t change the fluids and your vehicle will die with the original fluids prematurely 😂
3
He’s correct the copper/nickel lines are the best and easy to bend and fit.
3
Just crank up the volume and you won’t hear the rattle and bumps😂
3
I’d bet that the added hood latches are required because one latch with some shake can cause the aluminum to crack and fail and you have the hood wrapped over your windshield and roof 😢
3
No repair receipts, no buy. They made millions so the one you’re looking at isn’t the only one 😊
3
I knew a mechanic that drove a Dodge Ram with the rotors worn so you could see the ribs, no solid surface left and steel on steel so he drove slow 😮
3
My 22 year old Camaro has never had the A/C touched and is still good. Has lots of miles on it but it rarely use the A/C.
3
Rubber horse mats work well in p/u truck boxes 😊
3
Keeping a vehicle garaged really extends the life of the exterior
3
We shouldn’t be having more engine issues after over a century of making engines. Many things today are not made to make your life better it’s for government mandates only 😢and costing us all more for vehicles and their repairs 😢
3
I’ve never seen anyone so excited about a three cylinder unless it’s a bike or snowmobile 😮
3
Lose the hybrid part and im sold on it. Too bad government mandates make cars more complex and prone to expensive failures 😮
3
For decades now cars have been made with thin sheet steel. Older cars you could sit and lean on with doing any damage 😊 So thin in fact that they don’t do actual body work as they just replace panels 😮If you’re gonna buy new then a Toyota will be your best bet 😊.
3
It’s great to no longer need to replace ignition cap and rotor, plugs and wires.
3
My next vehicle will be Toyota!! Had a 2002 Camry years ago and never had any issues with it.
3
Years ago I went to a used car dealership to buy a pickup truck. A Camaro called my name and I bought it 😂
3
Huge grill with no bumper what could go wrong?😅
